Double Eccentric Butterfly Valve

High-Performance Flow Control. Less Wear. Longer Life.

The Claval Double Eccentric Butterfly Valve — also known as a High Performance Butterfly Valve — is engineered for demanding industrial flow control applications where reliability, tight shut-off and low maintenance costs are critical. Its double-offset shaft geometry ensures the disc lifts cleanly and completely away from the seat the instant it begins to open, eliminating the continuous seat friction that limits the service life of conventional concentric butterfly valves. The result is a valve that seals consistently, operates with significantly lower torque, and outlasts standard designs across a wide range of process conditions.

Benefits

  • Double-offset disc geometry causes the disc to cam away from the seat on opening, eliminating continuous seat contact and reducing wear by a significant margin compared to concentric designs
  • Ultra-low operating torque across the full stroke enables the use of smaller, more economical actuators — reducing both capital cost and energy consumption over the valve’s service life
  • Bubble-tight shut-off in both flow directions, with near-zero leakage achieved through precision disc-to-seat contact — suitable for isolation and flow regulation duties alike
  • High pressure and temperature capability — metal seat design supports service up to 425°C and Class 300 pressure rating, far exceeding the limits of standard rubber-seated butterfly valves
