Minimum Flow Auto Recirculation Valve
Automatic Pump Protection. No Intervention Required.
The Claval Minimum Flow Auto Recirculation Valve (ARV) is an all-in-one pump protection device engineered to safeguard centrifugal pumps from the damaging effects of low-flow operation. By continuously sensing process flow and automatically opening a recirculation bypass when flow drops below the minimum threshold, it eliminates overheating, cavitation and dry-running — without any external signal, controller or operator action.
Benefits:
- Fully automatic operation — senses flow and opens bypass independently, with no instrumentation or control system required
- Combines check valve, bypass valve and flow sensing into a single compact unit, reducing piping complexity and installation cost
- Protects against cavitation and overheating — keeps the pump operating safely at all times, even during start-up and low-demand periods
- Low-maintenance design with no moving parts subject to wear under normal operating conditions, minimising lifecycle cost
