Ball Check Valve
Simple. Self-Acting. Stops Backflow Dead.
The Claval Ball Check Valve is a free-floating, single-moving-part non-return valve designed to prevent reverse flow in pipelines automatically — with no external actuation, no controller, and no operator intervention required. When forward flow is present, the ball lifts off its seat and fluid passes freely. When flow stops or reverses, the ball drops back onto the seat under gravity and back pressure, creating a reliable, leak-tight seal. Its uncomplicated construction makes it one of the most dependable and lowest-maintenance check valve designs available for oil and gas, water treatment and chemical process applications.
Benefits:
- Single moving part — a free-floating ball with no springs, hinges or diaphragms — delivers maximum mechanical reliability and an extremely long service life
- Self-cleaning rolling action as the ball rotates during forward flow, dislodging particles and deposits from the seating surface — ideal for media with light suspended solids
- Near-zero leakage achieved through precision ball-to-seat contact along a continuous sealing ring, providing tighter shut-off than swing-type check valves in comparable service
- Top-access design enables fast in-line inspection and maintenance — ball and seat can be removed, inspected and replaced without removing the valve from the pipeline
